Located on a unique African island with turquoise waters of the Moçambique channel, Benguerra is the second largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago. The island is 55 square kilometers and lies 14km offshore with forest, savannah, freshwater lakes 3 of which with crocodiles and wetland eco-systems that sustain a diverse population of fauna and flora. The main lodge includes a large reception area, gift shop, lounge, bar, dining room, swimming pool and small spa - all with large wooden decks and indoor and outdoor seating areas. Traditional Moçambican dishes, fresh local fish and Portuguese flavours make up the daily menus. Breakfast and lunch are buffet affairs and dinner is a set menu. Enjoy the unspoiled white beaches, bird-life, freshwater lakes, fishing, coconut palms, diving, snorkelling around the surrounding coral reefs and search the seas for the legendary dugongs. Benguerra Lodge can also arrange the Dhow cruise, Castaway picnics, Landrover trips, Bird watching, Island walks, Sea kayaking and Yacht day trips.
